Korba e-Seva Centre

e-Seva - A pioneer IT Service in North India

The district administration of Korba makes history in piloting Korba “E-Seva”, an illustrious IT Project in the state of Chhattisgarh. The objective of the Centre is to induct a philosophy of quick, transparent and efficient delivery of services by Govt. and to treat citizens as valuable customers.

 

 

E-Seva is an illustration of a hand pump solution in Information Technology. It is envisaged as an integrated electronic interface where citizens can access Government services, pay bills and taxes and obtain necessary information from Government regarding schemes and projects. It is a one-stop shop payment centre; comprising multiple counters through which services would be delivered in a pleasant setting with trained and motivated staff. This Centre would work 7 days a week, 11 hours a day, as a quick yielding IT project.

 

 

 

Objectives 

Korba E-Seva has been initiated on the principle of  “Collect and Remit”  and “Receive and Forward” with a special software developed with robust back-end and a user friendly front end. The software is integrated to deliver receipts of bills of various department such as Electricity Bills , Telephone Bills , Nagar Nigam Water Bills , Property Tax , House/Shop Rent at any counter. The centre would also have provisions for Railway ticket reservation. The cost of the centre is around Rs.28 lacks

 

Value added services at E-Seva would be availability of internet facilities for registering of public grievances on the district web site www.korba.nic.in and citizens would also have the benefit of an Internet Café to be used by them at nominal cost. The citizens would also be able to extract information on Govt. schemes and projects and download forms and applications.

 

Ø               This project is a pioneer in IT services in North India as an integrated multi-departmental entity attempting to transform rent-seekers into services providers, thereby creating a culture of excellence in Govt. services.

 

Ø               The benefits accruing to about 2 lakh citizens from the project would be that the centre would act as a single transparent interface that would be hassle and corruption free and cost saving.

 

Ø               The centre would also offer independent quality monitoring and a system of social audit.
